Where are they now ? Holly Saunders

Meet Holly Saunders, class of 2015.

Holly achieved excellent results in the HSC yet never intended going to university. She even topped Advanced English! While other students were celebrating ‘schoolies’, Holly completed a Maritime Services course and secured a job as a deck hand.

By 2017, she was skippering passenger ferries around Sydney Harbour as a coxswain. Since then she got her Master <24m and MED3 qualifications which lead to her landing her dream job with Port Authority of NSW as a Port Officer.

In both Botany Bay and Sydney Harbour, she carries out checks in navigational aids, escorting ships in and out of the harbour, responding to emergencies, and completing security and environmental patrols.
