Description:

This course aims to develop students’ knowledge, understanding, skill, values and attitudes essential to achieving social and cultural literacy. It investigates the interactions between persons, society cultures and environment across time. Society and Culture is a course suited to students who are keen to learn about how their own culture and other cultures work, through an investigation of concepts such as identity, power and authority. Students also gain an understanding of how to properly conduct social and cultural research.

Additional Information: Completion of a compulsory Personal Interest Project (PIP) is a part of the HSC and is worth 40% of the final mark.
