"Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers."
Our library is a hub of learning; providing students with a space to engage in academic extension, research and inquiry and to enjoy the sheer pleasure of reading and immersion in new perspectives and narratives. Students are taught to engage with the library's resources from Year 10 onwards, setting up excellent research habits for later years.
Although we have embraced the need for a more flexible approach to the provision of technology in the library, it is delightful to see that the reading and borrowing of fiction is alive and well at our school. Students continue to appreciate and value the joy of reading a good book both through their English classes in the library and in their own leisure time.

Brisbane Water Secondary College acknowledges that we learn, work and play on the lands of the Darkinjung people, the traditional custodians of these lands. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present and recognise their contribution to our people and community. We empower our youth who are our hope for a brighter and stronger future and who will be our future leaders.
