Online Learning

All learning at our campus is now being delivered online.

Whether students are at home or attending school all students are expected to complete learning activities online using Google Classroom.

Students at our campus have been exposed to Google Classroom and should be comfortable in using the platform. However, if students or parents would like support in accessing and using Google Classroom they should read our Quick Reference Guides on using Google Classroom (available below).

The expectation of the Department of Education is that students to continue learning for the remainder of the Term and therefore staff will be providing learning opportunities on their Google Classrooms. A Google Classroom exists for every class for every grade at our campus. Students will have already joined these classrooms earlier in the year.

Students are required to check the Google Classroom for each of their classes each day and complete any activities provided by their teachers. Staff will be delivering learning experiences online and connect with students via Zoom. Students are required to access and complete this learning using the instructions provided by teachers in their Google Classrooms.

Google Classroom is the central management tool for assigning tasks, assignments and resources to students. It gives them a central location to access learning, and in many cases allows them to interactively respond using other tools such as Google Docs, Slides and Forms.

Teachers may use this platform to:

  • create an online classroom in which they can set assignments
  • post resources and links
  • encourage collaboration between classmates
  • communicate with students
  • provide feedback and email parents/carers.

Students can post questions, submit assignments and receive feedback from both classmates and their teacher.

Your child will have been sent an invitation or code to join a Google Classroom.

Your child’s teacher may also add you to Google Classroom as a Guardian. You will receive a weekly summary about assigned and upcoming tasks, overdue work and teacher feedback to keep you informed about your child’s learning. You will be invited to join as a Guardian via the email address you have provided to your child’s school.
