Support Unit on the go!
The Support Unit had a very busy and successful Term 2. Many of our students completed work experience at a variety of workplaces such as a local nursery, fast food outlets and supported employment organisations. This has been an invaluable experience for the students teaching them about the opportunities and expectations of life after school- we are very grateful to the employers for their assistance. Other students visited post school service providers and TAFE discovering what learning opportunities are available once they finish at school and a large group of students successfully completed a retail course run through Hornsby Tafe.
Our local member of parliament Deb O'Neil came and did a flag raising ceremony after presenting us with our new flags. We also had ten students go on camp to Stewart House for a week. The students had a fantastic time visiting many of Sydney's attractions such as the Zoo, Aquarium and Darling Harbour. A big thankyou must go out to Mrs Rogers for her time and patience throughout the week. Now we are preparing for another exciting Term ahead
