On the 8th and 9th of April (Week 11 of Term 1) the College will host our annual 2 Day Professional Learning Conference. The focus for this year's symposium and workshops will be centred on the priorities identified in the College Strategic Plan 2012-2014;Teacher Quality, Connected Learning, Curriculum Continuum and 21st Century Learning. For this year the College has engaged the services of renowned educationalist, Andrew Fuller as a part of our planning for developing and responding to the ever changing needs of 21st century learners. Andrew has recently been described as an "interesting mixture of Billy Connolly, Tim Winton and Frasier Crane" and "as someone who puts the heart back into psychology." He is the author of Tricky Kids, Guerilla Tactics for Teachers, Help Your Child Succeed At School, Work Smarter Not Harder and Beating Bullies. Andrew will deliver a series of workshops based on Creating Resilient Schools, Creating Resilient Learners and Classroom Strategies for Building Resilience and Improved Academic Outcomes. As always the conference is open to members of our learning community. Day 2 will feature a series of related workshops including the following 1) Authentic Assessment, 2) Quality Teaching & Coding, 3) Technology and Teaching, 4) Resilient Classrooms – A strategies based workshop 5) National Curriculum – The Learner and the New Curriculum 6) Digital Citizenship and 7) Edmodo – A whole school approach.
Please note that our Learning Conference will replace the School Development Days gazetted by DEC for Term 2 Day 2 April 30th and for Term 3 Day 1 July 15th.
