Description:
This course develops students’ awareness and understanding of our legal system and how it operates. In the preliminary course students examine Australia’s legal system, how the law impacts you as an individual and case studies on how the law is practiced in recent times including the laws outlawing motorcycle gangs. In the HSC students examine Crime, Human Rights, World Order and laws that affect worldwide Indigenous peoples.
Students’ abilities to investigate, analyse and synthesise are developed through opportunities to be involved in visits to the Local Court and Parliament House. This course develops skills that complement a broad range of other courses and will help prepare for careers in law, social work, business and environmental management.
